As mentioned in the previous post, for Rigoletto the Royal Opera of Liège commissioned a unique handcrafted artwork by designer Wouter de Winte. It depicts the entire opera in the different scenes.

After the success of I Capuleti e i Montecchi OperaLive is proud to present Rigoletto, the second of three operas broadcasted via the internet.
Rigoletto is an intense drama of passion, betrayal and revenge, based on the play “Le Roi s’Amuse” by French poet and playwright Victor Hugo. It was one of Giuseppe Verdi’s major triumphs. Directed by Philippe Sireuil and conducted by Paolo Arrivabeni, the opera is performed by an amazing international cast with stars like Mark Rucker, Cinzia Forte, Luciano Montanaro, Helen Leplalaan and many more. The roles of Giovanna and Count Ceprano are sung by two members of the Opéra Royal de Wallonie’s own choir: Laura Balidemaj and Pierre Gathier.
The opera will be broadcasted live on March 23rd and will be available online until 5 days one month after the live broadcast. Tickets are available here.
We already showed you behind the scenes pictures of the rehearsals for I Capuleti e i Montecchi. The production is now being performed in the Royal Opera of Wallonie ànd can be watched online from today onwards. We can already show you some truely amazing scenes:
