Graduated in 2002 from the conservatory of Liège in the singing class of Nicolas Christou, Didier Doyen also took numerous master classes with Tom Krause, Sarah Walker and Suzanne Eken.
He made his debut in the role of Bartley (Riders to the Sea by Vaughan Williams) with the troupe of the Opéra Studio de Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels after which he sang the role of Umberto in La Serva Padrona by Pergolesi and Charlot in Angélique by Jacques Ibert.
In February 2002 he successfully portrayed the role of Figaro (Le Nozze di Figaro) at the Opéra Studio de la Monnaie which immediately earned him other engagements.
